Patient Safety Organizations: Why They Are More Relevant Today Than Ever Before

PYA Principal Martie Ross is slated to present “Patient Safety Organizations: Why They are More Relevant Today Than Ever Before” at the Physician Insurers Association of America’s (PIAA) Corporate Counsel Workshop, October 22-23, 2015, at the Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, Florida.

As clinically integrated networks, accountable care organizations (ACOs), captives, and others within the healthcare industry strive to improve patient safety, population health, patient engagement, and cost efficiencies, they accumulate and analyze inordinate amounts of quality data. This session will provide attendees with information about Patient Safety Organizations (PSOs), which offer protection for such data and analysis. As part of federal law, PSO protection allows important safety and population health activities to progress without fear that such information and analysis will be used against healthcare entities and healthcare professionals.
