PYA is honored to announce its induction into The University of Kansas Health System Hall of Fame, the highest honor bestowed by the health system.
PYA is recognized as a 2023 Hall of Fame Partner in Excellence Award recipient, which honors organizations that partner with the health system to make a lasting impact on the people of the region.

PYA’s partnership with The University of Kansas Health System began in 2010 when the firm helped the system acquire Kansas City Cancer Center. Since then, PYA has served the system with valuation, transaction, and integration services related to several strategic growth initiatives, such as the 2022 opening of the Proton Therapy Center, the affiliation with Olathe Health, and the development of the Kansas Heart and Stroke Collaborative, which now provides resources for more than 80 rural communities within the state.
The University of Kansas Health System has grown to become one of the most recognized health systems in the country, being honored nationally by Forbes, Newsweek, Fortune, and others. The health system has continually been honored for its clinical achievements, earning many honors and accolades including recognition as one of the top 50 programs in eight adult medical and surgical specialties by U.S. News & World Report.

PYA, is pleased to announce the launch of its new PYA Center for Rural Health Advancement. This announcement coincides with the celebration of National Rural Health Day, which honors “the selfless, community-minded spirit that prevails in rural America.”
The Center for Rural Health Advancement will help providers across the country pursue data-driven, locally informed transformation to preserve access to high-quality essential services, while connecting the community to the broader care continuum.
“Rural communities already face limited access to care. Hundreds of rural healthcare facilities are vulnerable to closure,” said PYA’s Managing Principal of Consulting David McMillan. “The PYA Center for Rural Health Advancement will provide expert assistance and resources to these critical community assets.”
With clients in every state, PYA has nearly four decades of experience working alongside rural providers to build and maintain the four foundations of long-term sustainability: Community Engagement, Clinical Excellence, Financial Stability, and Regulatory Compliance. The new center, supported by PYA’s team of recognized thought leaders, will serve rural communities across the country as a full-service consultancy.

There is a genuine urgency to help these providers through innovative approaches that can only be developed by changing the way we think about healthcare.”
PYA has been named one of America’s Most Recommended Tax and Accounting Firms in the 2024 USA TODAY rankings based on surveys by Statista, an independent market research institute.
USA TODAY ranks firms in two categories: the 100 Most Recommended Tax Firms and the 100 Most Recommended Accounting Firms, and PYA is included in both lists. PYA is one of only four tax firms and one of five accounting firms listed in Tennessee and is the only ranked firm headquartered in Knoxville.

The rankings are based on the number of recommendations gathered from professionals and clients across the country. To compile the data, Statista “conducted broad surveys of tax and accounting professionals and their clients. Peers were asked for up to 10 tax or accounting firms they would recommend if their company couldn’t take on a client. Clients were asked for up to 10 tax or accounting firms based on their professional experience over the past three years,” according to the USA TODAY announcement.
PYA’s undeterred focus on excellent client service, relationship-building, and unparalleled expertise to address clients’ needs has led to many recognitions. The 2024 USA TODAY accolades come after two years of PYA being named one of America’s Best Tax and Accounting Firms by Forbes, a ranking also curated by Statista. In 2023, PYA was named an INSIDE Public Accounting (IPA) Best of the Best Firm, an IPA Top 100 Firm, and a Top 100 firm by Accounting Today.
