Executives Share Thought Leadership in Montana Joint Conference

Two PYA executives, Senior Manager Traci Waugh and Director of Reimbursement Services Emily Wetsel, are leading sessions at the Montana Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and Montana Health Information Management Association (MHIMA) Joint Spring Conference. The conference takes place April 24-26, 2024, in Great Falls and provides educational resources for hospital administrators, chief financial officers, reimbursement specialists, managed care professionals, coders, and health information management leaders and directors.

On April 24, Waugh and Wetsel will present “2024 Medicare Cost Report Tips and Tricks for Effective Reporting.” At the session, attendees will learn to identify and prepare for schedules of the Medicare cost report, particularly those that impact reimbursement, and come away with an understanding of the cost report process and how to develop a strategy for filing accurate reports.

On April 25, Waugh will lead the MHIMA Compliance Corner focusing on coding and billing. Common enforcement themes and the impact on compliance will be discussed. Additionally, areas of potential fraud will be reviewed along with common reasons for claim denials and resources to assist with proactive measures.

The Montana HFMA is a chapter of the national Healthcare Financial Management Association and provides education and support for professionals in healthcare financial management across the state. The MHIMA is a component of the American Health Information Management Association, a nonprofit focused on ensuring health information is accurate, secure, private, and available to patients and providers.

PYA is pleased to be an MHIMA corporate partner.
