PYA Goes Platinum in “Music City” at AHLA Healthcare Transactions Program

Blue Skyline_-_Southern Nashville (3)Music row. The Titans. The Gulch.  Vandy.  Home to country legends and the latest PYA office.

Nashville has a lot to offer, along with the American Health Lawyers’ Association Health Care Transactions Program this April 10-11, 2014, at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel.

PYA is excited to provide platinum-level support of this unique AHLA program. The conference offers an opportunity to learn the latest commercial developments, strategies and deal forecasts from noted experts. Gain insight into the business and legal issues involving contemporary healthcare business transactions, including emerging care models, merger and acquisition (M&A) trends, financing techniques, deal-risk management strategies, post integration lessons, and more.

PYA Consulting Principal Carol Carden will co-present with Charlene McGinty of McKenna Long.  They will examine the top issues to address when acquiring a physician practice and some of the common and more complex issues hospitals face during the acquisition, such as:

  • Treatment of ancillary services.
  • Proper planning for on-boarding.
  • FMV determination and what assets you are really buying.
  • Transaction structure – Stock vs. asset sale.
  • Post-transaction compensation.
  • Anti-trust issues.
  • Stacking considerations – what elements should be expected in exchange for compensation.
  • Evaluation of post-acquisition losses and commercial reasonableness.
  • Acquisition structures that enhance other health reform initiatives.
  • Compensation issues upon renewal.

The program will also create a networking opportunity with recognized deal-makers and shakers in the healthcare community–including leading healthcare executives, attorneys, investment bankers, and valuation experts from across the country.

For more information about M&A and transactional advisory services, contact Carol Carden or Marty Brown at PYA, (800) 270-9629.
