Changing Landscape for Health Lawyers

PYA Healthcare Consulting Manager Kathryn Culver authored an article, “Changing Landscape for Health Lawyers,” which was recently published in Connections magazine, a monthly publication of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). The article was written as part of the AHLA Young Professionals series and focuses on two areas that allow young lawyers to “shine” within the changing healthcare landscape: specialization and expansion of one’s professional network.

Article Excerpt:

While specialization in one (or more) areas of healthcare law necessitates additional specific education and training, new healthcare attorneys willing to make such an investment provide themselves the opportunity to “stand out of the crowd.” Healthcare attorneys that demonstrate depth of expertise in one or more specific areas of practice are likely in high demand.
