Finance for the Non-Finance Manager

PYA offered financial training for non-finance managers (those typically not serving in an accounting or financial role) during a live in-person event hosted by the Florida Hospital Association (FHA).  The four-hour session, opened to both FHA members and non-members, covered the basics of financial reporting and financial statements and budgeting.  The program occurred Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 10 am to 2:30 pm, in Orlando, FL.

PYA’s Angie Caldwell, a healthcare consulting and financial audit services principal, along with Emily Smithson, a tax services manager, discussed “Finance for the Non-Finance Manager.”  The session was designed to help participants:

  • Understand the basic principles of financial accounting and reporting;
  • Read and interpret financial statements;
  • Analyze financial statement information for operational decision-making; and,
  • Understand the budgeting process.
