Redefining Health in the Workplace: A Fishbowl Panel and Discussion of Employer Impact

PYA Principal Amy Mechley, MD, will moderate and participate on a panel, “Redefining Health in the Workplace: A Fishbowl Panel and Discussion of Employer Impact,” at the American College of Lifestyle Medicine 2017 Conference. The discussion will focus on the employer’s role in, and opportunity to improve upon, health outcomes in the new era of value-based care.  The employer, aside from an individual citizen of the U.S., is the other actual payer for healthcare. Engaging in the improvement of health is a direct ROI.

Panel objectives include:

  • Characterizing best practices and shortcomings of current leaders in the employer wellness industry.
  • Demonstrating understanding of recent analytics of Lifestyle-Medicine-based interventions for the employed person.
  • Describing predicted future advancements in employer health engagement and outcome improvements with application of Lifestyle Medicine principles.
  • Describing the impact of advances in digital health and informed consumerism on the health of the employed population, and therefore on the spend of healthcare.

The Conference takes place October 22-25, 2017, in Tucson, Arizona.
