Due to of the extraordinary degree of provider interest in the Bundled Payment for Care Improvement Initiative (“Initiative”) the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation has announced updated deadlines for Initiative applications.
The new application deadline for Models 2, 3 and 4 is April 30, 2012. CMS is targeting a release date of February 28, 2012, for the requested Limited Data Sets to those who have submitted a Research Request Packet and Data Use Agreement for historical claims data. All other instructions for submission of applications for this program remain the same.
The Initiative bridges current volume-based models of care with future value-based models of care and focuses on improving quality and operational performance.
