Steven assists businesses looking to expand into U.S. or China markets, advising them on issues related to Initial Public Offerings (IPOs); mergers and acquisitions (M&A); private equity ventures; leverage buyouts; bankruptcy; due diligence; tax accounting, asset monetization, planning; research; compliance; and business strategy.
Raised in China, his unique bi-cultural and bi-lingual background assists organizations in managing political, legal, tax, and economic business issues. While working within Big 4 and regional accounting firms, he has helped facilitate a variety of business deals, including the largest M&A transaction in the telecommunications industry ($28.1 billion) and the fifth largest bankruptcy restructuring deal in the U.S. Additionally, he provided outbound investment professional services for the largest Chinese state-owned petroleum company, hydropower company, and privately owned real estate company, as well as Hong Kong’s largest publicly traded medical equipment company. His familiarity with both American and Chinese business practices affords him the ability to broker effective communication between firms, clients, and companies, as well as government agencies.
Steven holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Florida, a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (China) and a Masters in Accounting from West Texas A&M University. He is a Georgia-certified public accountant and has been granted Bar Admission in the state of New York.
He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the American Bar Association and the Technology Association of Georgia. He has served as a Board Member with the National Association of Chinese Americans and as a Global Commerce Council member with the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. He was a part of Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed’s 1st China Trade Mission Planning Committee. He has been awarded Sector Deal of the Year for Financial Services by M&A Advisors and Top 25 Most Influential Asian-Americans in Georgia by Georgia Asian Times.
