Karin Anderson

Principal & Corporate Counsel

Karin holds more than 30 years of healthcare regulatory and legal experience focused on compliance with laws necessary for operations, company reputation, and risk reduction. Her focus areas include privacy/HIPAA/cybersecurity, contracts (vendors, physician/hospital) and compliance with fraud and abuse laws (False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback and Qui Tam Suits). A JD, Karin has experience working at publicly traded and nonprofit healthcare corporations to represent hospital systems, healthcare facilities, and providers. Karin advises PYA and PYA clients on the development and implementation of initiatives to improve legal support of business operations.

Karin earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, College of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clemson University. She is an adjunct professor in healthcare law at Lincoln Memorial University Law School.

Karin is called upon often to speak on her areas of expertise, including for the Tennessee Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Employment Laws for Healthcare Providers; MGMA Johnson City Healthcare Laws; MGMA Knoxville Physician Practice and Healthcare Law; and Tennessee Bar Association Healthcare Law Primer. She is an executive council member health law for the Tennessee Bar Association and a member of the American Health Law Association and the Tennessee Bar Association.
