Heather Martin, a Certified Public Accountant, graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a major of Accounting (1999) and a Masters of Accountancy degree with a concentration in Tax (2001). She has been employed by PYA since 2000 as part of its Tax and Business Advisory department. She focuses on assisting businesses with both financial operations and tax issues, ensuring management has meaningful financial data to make decisions about business operations and creating a link of the financial data to tax planning and annual tax filings. By seeing both sides, she’s able to provide business owners a thorough understanding of these essential business components and assist in creating desired outcomes. She also assists individuals with similar items related to financial budgeting, tax planning and annual tax filings. She also has experience in financial accounting software conversions and implementation of new software packages for both businesses and individuals.
She has served on the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Society of CPA’s and Blount County Habitat for Humanity and continues to be active in both organizations. She also received the Greater Knoxville Business Journal’s 40 under 40 honor in 2012.
