From cybersecurity to contracts, PYA executives are sharing knowledge about a variety of topics at two Montana healthcare conferences in September.
The Montana Healthcare Conference, September 19-22, is the “largest gathering of healthcare professionals” in the state, according to its website. Hosted by the Montana Hospital Association (MHA) in collaboration with the Montana Primary Care Association, the conference gives attendees from virtually all of Montana’s hospitals and health centers a chance to learn from national and international experts in the industry.
On September 20, Principal Barry Mathis will present “Surviving a Cybersecurity Attack: Keys to Successful Analysis and Risk Mitigation,” an interactive session during which attendees will face time-sensitive scenarios that mimic real-life cybersecurity attacks. They will learn to discern threats, collaborate with stakeholders, stabilize hospital operations, and communicate with regulatory entities.
On September 21, Martie Ross, Consulting Principal and Director of PYA Center for Rural Health Advancement, will present, “Transitional Care Management: Intersecting Quality, Nursing, and Finance.” She will discuss the benefits of transitional care management (TCM), Medicare’s reimbursement of TCM, and how a TCM program can generate new revenue for healthcare organizations.
Additionally, Ross and Senior Manager Kathy Reep will present, “Commercial Payer Contracts: Ensuring Adequate, Accurate, & Timely Payments & Fewer Denials,” on September 21. They will discuss the value of using data during contract negotiations, steps to ensure timely payment, and related regulatory compliance issues.
The MHA Corporate Compliance and Risk Management Conference takes place during the first day of the Montana Healthcare Conference. The compliance conference enables corporate compliance and risk managers as well as legal advisors and other professionals to gain knowledge to maintain compliance programs and understand regulatory requirements.
Mathis will lead the compliance professionals through the cybersecurity interactive workshop, where they will focus on discerning active threats and communicating with key stakeholders while learning about technology security controls necessary to prepare for and manage a cyberattack.
Senior Manager Traci Waugh will present, “Build a Strong Compliance Infrastructure,” which will help attendees learn key components and potential “cracks” in the front, middle, and end of the revenue cycle. She also will share ways to be proactive with common at-risk services.
PYA is pleased to co-sponsor the MHA Corporate Compliance and Risk Management Conference with Hall Render Killian Heath & Lyman. PYA also is honored to be a Platinum Education Underwriter for the MHA.
