A New Reimbursement Model for Rural Providers — PYA Presentation Summarizes What You Need to Know and How to Apply

In August, the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) announced the Community Health Access and Rural Transformation (CHART) Model. CMMI intends this voluntary model to “provid[e] a way for rural communities to transform their health care delivery systems by leveraging innovative financial arrangements as well as operational and regulatory flexibilities.” At a presentation during the MHA House of Delegates & Member CEO Meetings, PYA Principal Martie Ross explained what rural providers need to know and how they can apply. Her session:

  • Summarized the two CHART tracks (the Community Transformation Track and the ACO Transformation Track).
  • Highlighted the implementation timeline.
  • Explained the eligibility requirements and the application process.

The event took place September 15-16, 2020, in Helena, MT. View the presentation slides here.
