PYA has been named one of America’s Most Recommended Tax and Accounting Firms in the 2024 USA TODAY rankings based on surveys by Statista, an independent market research institute.
USA TODAY ranks firms in two categories: the 100 Most Recommended Tax Firms and the 100 Most Recommended Accounting Firms, and PYA is included in both lists. PYA is one of only four tax firms and one of five accounting firms listed in Tennessee and is the only ranked firm headquartered in Knoxville.

The rankings are based on the number of recommendations gathered from professionals and clients across the country. To compile the data, Statista “conducted broad surveys of tax and accounting professionals and their clients. Peers were asked for up to 10 tax or accounting firms they would recommend if their company couldn’t take on a client. Clients were asked for up to 10 tax or accounting firms based on their professional experience over the past three years,” according to the USA TODAY announcement.
PYA’s undeterred focus on excellent client service, relationship-building, and unparalleled expertise to address clients’ needs has led to many recognitions. The 2024 USA TODAY accolades come after two years of PYA being named one of America’s Best Tax and Accounting Firms by Forbes, a ranking also curated by Statista. In 2023, PYA was named an INSIDE Public Accounting (IPA) Best of the Best Firm, an IPA Top 100 Firm, and a Top 100 firm by Accounting Today.
For the past 17 years, Modern Healthcare has ranked PYA among the Top 20 healthcare consulting firms in the U.S., and in 2023, PYA was inducted into The University of Kansas Health System Hall of Fame, the highest honor bestowed by the health system. Additionally, PYA was named a 2023 Knox News “Top Workplace” for the fifth time, and PYA is ranked as one of the top five largest management consulting firms in the Nashville Business Journal’s Book of Lists.
