New PYA Executives Support Performance Transformation Initiative

PYA welcomes two new executives in support of its Performance Transformation initiative, Lee Ann Odom, Principal, and Jessica Scouten, Director of Forensic Services and Consulting Senior Manager. They add key operational and financial experience to PYA’s team, aimed at helping healthcare organizations transform their operations and achieve improved financial results.

Lee Ann has nearly three decades of experience in the healthcare industry and brings clinical, operational, strategic, and leadership skills to PYA’s clients. Her experience includes health system executive leadership, clinical operations management and improvement, service line development, and merger and acquisition integration.

Lee Ann assists clients in developing workflows that result in efficient, patient-centered care and leads and supports teams during change management and integrations to achieve operational excellence. Her clinical background, coupled with her executive leadership roles, equip her to engage with clients’ front-line staff as well as C-suite leaders.

Lee Ann earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy degree from Wayne State University, a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration degree from Central Michigan University, and a Certificate in Managing Healthcare Delivery from Harvard Business School. A licensed physical therapist and nursing home administrator, Lee Ann served as president of the Michigan Association of Medical Program Rehabilitation Administrators and was an examiner with the Michigan Quality Council.

Jessica brings more than 15 years of audit and assurance, advisory, litigation support, and forensic experience to PYA’s Healthcare Consulting service. Her expertise lies primarily in providing financial advisory and forensic investigation services to PYA healthcare clients, helping them to navigate the continually evolving changes of the industry.

Throughout her career, Jessica has led teams of healthcare professionals to provide turnaround management. She has spearheaded efforts to assist distressed healthcare entities and directed and advised in healthcare financial investigations.

Jessica earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Messiah College. She is a certified public accountant, certified fraud examiner, certified insolvency and restructuring advisor, and a master analyst in financial forensics. A member of many professional associations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Health Law Association, and Association of Fraud Examiners, Jessica serves on the boards of directors for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville and Turnaround Management Association. She is active in the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, Middle Tennessee Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Nashville Food Project, Women in White Collar Defense Association, and Nashville Young Leaders Council.

PYA is ranked 16th in the Modern Healthcare 2023 rankings of the largest healthcare management consulting firms in the nation, moving up two spaces from 2022. This is the 17th year in a row PYA has been ranked in the Top 25. In 2023, the firm was inducted into The University of Kansas Health System Hall of Fame as a Partner in Excellence, the highest honor given by the health system.
