Executives Speak About Oklahoma Managed Care During Boot Camp

Four PYA executives will lead two sessions at the Oklahoma Hospital Association (OHA) Managed Care Boot Camp on Aug. 16 in Oklahoma City. Jason Hardin, Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics; Bob Paskowski, Principal; Kathy Reep, Senior Manager; and Martie Ross, Consulting Principal and Director of PYA Center for Rural Health Advancement, will present “5 Pitfalls to Avoid in Your Managed Care Contracts” and “Using Data and Performance Tools to Support Your Hospital’s Contracting Strategy.”

The OHA Boot Camp is a one-day event to prepare healthcare leaders in Oklahoma for the growth of managed care across the state and the conversion of the state’s Medicaid system to a managed care model, called SoonerSelect.

The first session led by Paskowski and Ross serves managed care contracting teams. In today’s healthcare environment, maintaining hospital net revenue is more important than ever, and the managed care contracting team serves as the organization’s first line of defense against payers’ aggressive tactics. Paskowski and Ross will address major pitfalls in managed care contracting and how the team can prepare for successful negotiations with payers.

During the second session, Hardin, Paskowski, and Reep will discuss the firm’s Overwatch suite of solutions, specifically Revenue Management Overwatch, which offers strategies for payer contracting, reimbursement modeling, revenue cycle optimization, and government reimbursement. They also will demonstrate PYA’s Negotiated Pricing Dashboard, an intuitive online tool that helps healthcare organizations compare negotiated rates for services among peer health systems, facilities, and payers.

The Oklahoma Hospital Association promotes the “health and welfare of all Oklahomans by leading and assisting its member organizations in providing high quality, safe, and valued health care services to their communities,” according to its website. OHA provides advocacy, education, data analysis, and other resources to more than 135 hospitals and health systems in Oklahoma.

PYA is proud to be an OHA Education Sponsor Platinum Underwriter.
