“CARES Act Provider Relief Fund: Compliance Concerns”

Providers that received more than $10,000 in Provider Relief Fund (PRF) payments prior to July 1, 2020, must report on their use of those funds by September 30, 2021. Additionally, the Office of Management and Budget recently released the 2021 Compliance Supplement, signaling that Single Audits of federal awards, including Provider Relief Funds, can proceed.

PYA Principals Martie Ross and Mike Nichols presented “CARES Act Provider Relief Fund: Compliance Concerns” at the Health Care Compliance Association’s (HCCA) Kansas City Regional Healthcare Compliance Conference. In their presentation, they:

  • Addressed permitted and prohibited uses of Provider Relief Fund payments.
  • Discussed documenting and reporting on funds’ use and Single Audit requirements.
  • Helped attendees prepare for anticipated enforcement activity.

The conference was held September 17, 2021. View the presentation slides here.

Attendees were eligible to receive a maximum of 7.2 continuing education units at this conference.
