The 2021 Spring Conference and Annual Meeting for the Florida Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) will be held in person this year from May 23-26.
PYA Senior Managers Kathy Reep and Dave Ebel will speak May 25. They will be joined by Michael Stubee, AVP of Managed Care, at Orlando Health for their presentation, “Surprise Billing — No More Surprises.” Their session will review Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) provisions that deal with surprise billing and transparency in patient pricing. It will include a discussion on implementation concerns from the provider perspective. Key learning points include:
- Obtain a better understanding of the No Surprises Act that was signed into law as part of the CAA.
- Gain insight into the impacts the Act has on patients, providers, and health plans.
- Gain insight into the requirements regarding surprise medical billing, transparency requisites, and consumer protections.
The event will be held in Tampa, Florida, with limited attendance. The program is eligible for up to 14 CPE credits in various fields of study.
