Rock, Raabe Provide MPFS Update Status in Health Law Publication

Two PYA executives, Principal Valerie Rock and Manager Brian Raabe, recently contributed to an article for the American Health Law Association (AHLA) related to the current state of the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) 2025 final rule and expectations for the future.

Rock and Raabe were joined by Kristin Bohl, Bass Berry & Sims PLC, to write the article, Midyear Pulse Check on the CY 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule: Considerations and Forecasting for the 2026 Rulemaking Cycle.” The article focuses on five updates in the 2025 final rule and predicts changes from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the new administration.

Specifically, the authors discuss changes and provide updates related to these areas:

  1. Rate Reduction
  2. 60-Day Rule
  3. Global Surgery Payment
  4. Advanced Primary Care Management
  5. Telehealth

They recommend monitoring for updates from CMS as changes are implemented and taking advantage of the new opportunities for reimbursement.

The article was published in the May 28 AHLA Physician Organizations Practice Group Briefing. AHLA provides educational content for professionals in health law. The organization’s 12,000 members represent the spectrum of the healthcare industry.

PYA has helped healthcare leaders navigate changing regulations for more than 40 years. Our executives are happy to assist.
