Kathy Reep, PYA senior manager, was a guest presenter at the Illinois Health and Hospital Association (IHA) 2023 Small and Rural Hospitals Annual Meeting, June 28-29, in Springfield. The conference featured expert presenters from Illinois and around the country who focused on strategies to build a vibrant rural health system today and into the future.
On June 29, Reep presented, “Rural Healthcare Regulatory Roundup.” The presentation examined COVID-related changes and other top regulatory issues impacting small and rural hospitals, which were significantly impacted by the May 11 termination of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. Reep offered practical tips and best practices to help rural healthcare leaders navigate the changes, achieve compliance, and strengthen hospital operations.
Other conference presentations covered issues including the future of the rural healthcare system, improving safety in rural hospitals, strategies for financial stability, opioid use disorder, rural health disparities, and others.
