PYA to Exhibit at Annual Texas Health Law Conference

PYA will join affiliate company RTG for the 35th annual Texas Health Law Conference in Austin, October 9-11, 2022. We look forward to engaging with attendees and healthcare attorneys about the latest compliance regulations, legislation, and best practices. Sessions include case studies and legislative updates, as well as discussions on the No Surprises Act, Stark Law, and more.

PYA Chief Compliance Officer and Office Managing Principal Shannon Sumner will participate as part of an optional pre-conference workshop panel discussion on “Administrative Law Principles in the Context of Healthcare Payment Issues.” The panel will focus on recent legal developments in administrative law as they apply to healthcare providers navigating their way through regulatory challenges. Discussion will include:

  • An update on recent U.S. Supreme Court cases and other important decisions impacting how courts review the actions of administrative agencies like the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
  • Avenues for appealing various Medicare agency determinations and practical considerations associated with pursuit of such appeals.
  • A compliance overview, given the coding and billing issues frequently central to payment and other disputes arising in the administration of government payment programs.
