PYA Collaborates on National Survey on Medical Oncology Workforce; Kugler Presents Webinar

Cover of the 2025 AAPCP report on medical oncology workforce strategy, developed with PYA’s provider compensation experts, highlighting trends in physician and APP workforce, compensation, and oncology care delivery.

As a longtime supporter of the American Association of Provider Compensation Professionals (AAPCP), PYA is honored to have assisted with the AAPCP 2025 research, Positioning for Impact: Physician and APP Workforce Strategy in Medical Oncology. The in-depth report, which is highlighted during AAPCP’s annual Survey and Data Week, examines the state of the medical oncology workforce, which is “approaching a critical inflection point as global demand for cancer care accelerates,” the report states. The rigorous analysis leverages market data and survey insights to outline recommendations intended to “optimize workforce capacity, enhance care delivery, and align with value-based care imperatives.”

PYA supported the production of the timely report by assisting with survey questions, reviewing results, and providing feedback from the firm’s subject matter experts. The report, available to members of AAPCP, covers many critical areas:

  • Landscape of the medical oncology workforce
  • Trends, challenges, and innovations transforming oncology care
  • National workforce supply and demand outlook

Survey results shared in the report include

  • Productivity compensation
  • Call compensation
  • APP collaboration
  • Value-based bonus structures in oncology compensation
  • Total cash compensation for new medical oncology recruits
  • Strategic recommendations

Additionally, during AAPCP’s Survey and Data Week, Tynan Kugler, Principal, will present a webinar, “Medical Oncology: Market Trends and Compensation Insights,” on August 28. She will discuss compensation, call coverage, and recruitment for medical oncology in response to shifts in care models, payer influences, and site-of-service changes. Register for the webinar.
