Biggs Presents at National Academic Medical Center Conference

Deborah Biggs, Principal and Director of PYA’s Academic Medicine Consulting Services, will share thought leadership at the Alliance of Independent Academic Medical Centers (AIAMC) 2024 Annual Meeting. The meeting, which takes place April 4-6 in Tucson, Ariz., brings together key leaders from academic medical centers and national accrediting organizations around the country to discuss emerging trends in the industry.

On April 5, Biggs will be joined by Victor Kolade, MD, FACP, Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, to present, “Teaching Hospitals and Medical Schools: Moving Beyond Affiliation Agreements to Impactful Strategic Partnerships: Guthrie/Robert Packer Hospital.” Using insights from case studies, Biggs and Kolade will discuss the need for a continuum of education and partnership at all levels of medical education: undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education.

Attendees will come away with a better understanding of what makes a successful affiliation agreement with medical schools, and they will learn the value of incorporating the issues of physician shortages, workforce development, diversity, and funding into strategic planning.

The AIAMC is a national organization of approximately 90 independent teaching hospitals. It is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care by providing innovative resources to support leaders in the regulatory and accreditation environment.

PYA is proud to be a silver sponsor of the AIAMC Annual Meeting.
