Webinar: “Preparing for the May 11, 2023, End of the COVID-19 PHE”

With the COVID-19 public health emergency ending May 11, hospitals must return to normal operations as regulatory flexibilities and enhanced reimbursement will terminate. The Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association presented a webinar, “Preparing for the May 11, 2023, End of the COVID-19 PHE,” to discuss what happens next. During the webinar, Foley & Lardner’s Larry Vernaglia and PYA Principal Martie Ross provided a roadmap for navigating this last mile in the COVID-19 journey.

The topics they covered included the following:

• Medicare telehealth flexibilities
• Medicaid determinations
• Payments for COVID-19 testing and treatment
• Hospital capacity
• Discharge planning and post-acute care
• Staffing flexibilities
• Administrative tasks
• Provider enrollment
• Stark Law waivers
• Hospital-at-home program

The 45-minute webinar took place February 16, 2023.
