Healthcare Compliance and Internal Investigations, Cybersecurity on HCCA Conference Agenda

A conference geared toward board members, managers, and healthcare compliance professionals offers attendees a full plate of compliance-related insights. The goal of the 2020 Health Care Compliance Association’s (HCCA) Board & Audit Committee Compliance Conference is to offer guidance that helps healthcare organizations meet the expectations of the Office of Inspector General and other governmental regulatory agencies.

PYA Chief Compliance Officer and Office Managing Principal Shannon Sumner and Principal Barry Mathis will be among the thought leaders at the event, sharing their expertise on compliance-related issues.

Shannon will participate in a panel discussion, “Internal Investigations and Healthcare Compliance Matters,” along with Gabriel Imperato and James Rough. They will discuss:

  • The importance of internal investigations.
  • Board direction of internal investigations.
  • Internal investigations and resolving compliance problems.

Barry will participate in a presentation on “Cybersecurity,” along with Roy Wyman. They will tackle:

  • Cybercrime, hacking, and ransomware.
  • Risks to privacy.
  • Becoming and remaining compliant.
