PYA Managing Principal of Valuation Services Carol Carden has been announced as one of three judges for Innov865’s annual Startup Day event. Carol will join Tanika Harper, CEO and founder of the Shora Foundation, and Jenna Johns, COO of RDI Technologies, as judges for a pitch competition in which six Knoxville entrepreneurs will vie for cash prizes totaling $10,000.
Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon will make opening remarks during the event, which will be hosted by Chris McAdoo, the Knoxville Entrepreneur Center’s director of strategy and engagement, and Cortney Piper, founder and president of Piper Communications and executive director of the Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council.
PYA is pleased to be a sponsor, in line with our commitment to helping entrepreneurs launch and grow and stay in Knoxville, also evident through our 10-year and continuing commitment to Teknovation. PYA is also sponsoring a VIP Reception with special guest Tony Vitello, head baseball coach for the University of Tennessee.
In addition to the pitch competition, Startup Day will also feature a fireside chat with local entrepreneurs and Launch Tennessee CEO Lindsey Cox.
Startup Day is just one of the many events during the annual Innov865 Week, which highlights businesses and the economic culture of Knoxville. Carol will also participate in “Raising and Rising,” an exciting pitch and networking event.
Startup Day will be held at The Mill & Mine in Knoxville, September 20, 2022, from 2 to 5 p.m. Eastern. Learn more here.
