PYA Leader Discusses Carveout Transactions During Podcast, National Conference

PYA Charlotte Office Managing Principal Annapoorani Bhat will present at the 2024 American Health Law Association’s (AHLA) Advising Providers conference, which takes place Feb. 5-7, 2024, in New Orleans. The comprehensive conference combines AHLA’s successful Academic Medical Centers and Teaching Hospitals Institute and its Physicians and Hospitals Law Institute.

On February 6, Bhat, along with Jeanna Palmer Gunville, Polsinelli PC, will present “A Slice of the AMC Pie–Legal and Value Considerations around Service Line Carveouts.” The presentation uses case studies to describe how academic medical centers (AMCs) and their advisors can prepare the organization for successful service line carveout transactions.

Bhat and Gunville provided several details related to this presentation during a pre-conference podcast hosted by AHLA and sponsored by PYA on January 23. Listen to the podcast, “Legal and Value Considerations Around Service Line Carveouts.”

The AHLA conference gathers in-house counsel from AMCs, teaching hospitals, physician practices, hospitals, and health systems across the country, as well as outside counsel, compliance officers, academicians, government representatives, and others. Expert presenters provide analysis of legal, regulatory, compliance, and business issues faced by the industries.
