PYA Experts Shine Light on Compliance at MHA Corporate Compliance & Risk Management Conference

The sun has set on this year’s Montana Hospital Association (MHA) Corporate Compliance & Risk Management Conference. Healthcare compliance professionals and their legal advisors participated in discussions and networking events to gain the knowledge and tools needed to maintain effective compliance programs and respond to regulatory developments.

PYA Principal and Chief Compliance Officer Shannon Sumner and Consulting Manager Susan Thomas presented sessions that address a range of compliance program needs, using their decades of experience and insight to offer concrete, practical information and support:

  • “Compliance Program Essentials”
  • “Compliance Program Reporting and Governance”
  • “The Role of Compliance in Government Enforcement & Compliance Resources”

PYA Senior Manager Kathy Reep, a former healthcare industry and hospital association executive, also presented “Transparency: Current Requirements, Proposed Rules, and Implications for Hospitals.” She reviewed the actions adopted by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in the final 2020 outpatient prospective payment system (OPPS) rule expectations for implementation.

The event took place November 7-8, 2019, in Helena, MT.
