PYA Designates Role and Announces New Executive

PYA is pleased to announce that Nina Eiler has been designated General Counsel and Director of Litigation Support for the PYA legal team, and Emily Wetsel has joined the firm as Director of Reimbursement Services.

As General Counsel, Nina Eiler serves as PYA’s chief in-house attorney. Nina joined PYA in 2021 as Corporate Counsel and Director of Litigation Support, a new role, and her designation as General Counsel recognizes her extraordinary accomplishment in building a corporate counsel team with the recent additions of Matt Bettis and Karin Anderson. Nina leads the firm’s legal team to assist PYA experts in managing litigation projects, reviewing expert reports, and assisting in depositions and trial preparation. The team also supports PYA on business and customary legal matters through contract reviews and negotiations, risk management, compliance issues, and other legal matters.

Nina holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree with a Concentration in Advocacy from the University of Tennessee College of Law. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Logistics & Transportation degree with a Collateral in International Business from UT. She is a member of the American Health Law Association and an executive committee member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Emily Wetsel joins PYA’s Charlotte office as Director of Reimbursement Services. Emily served as a member of one of the nation’s Top 10 accounting firms for the last 13 years and brings to PYA clients her experience fully devoted to helping them navigate the complex healthcare reimbursement processes.

As a seasoned reimbursement professional, particularly in Medicare and Medicaid compliance, Emily has prepared and reviewed thousands of reimbursement cost reports and conducted healthcare consulting projects for clients throughout the country. With her in-depth reimbursement experience and broad healthcare consulting and financial audit knowledge, Emily advises PYA clients across the nation on transactions, strategy, and methods to improve quality results while complying with Medicare and Medicaid regulations.

A licensed CPA in North Carolina, Emily earned a Master of Accounting degree from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration—Accounting Concentration degree from Presbyterian College. She is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and North Carolina Association of CPAs and is a board member of Brave Step, Inc.
