Longtime Hospital Industry Expert Kathy Reep Joins PYA

PYA, a leading healthcare consulting and certified public accounting firm, is pleased to announce the arrival of Senior Manager Kathy Reep to the firm.

PYA, P.C. has announced Kathy Reep has joined the firm as Senior Manager of Business Development effective September 23, 2019. Prior to joining PYA, Reep served as Vice President of Financial Services with the Florida Hospital Association.

“We have worked with Kathy for years as she served hospitals as a provider advocate on state and federal levels,” said PYA President Marty Brown. “She is known by many for her expertise in Medicare and Medicaid-related issues. Her wealth of industry knowledge will enhance our abilities to better assist our hospital client partners.”

Reep has more than three decades of leadership experience in the healthcare industry with hospital-setting expertise in compliance, financial advisory, reimbursement, and managed care. A thought leader and provider educator, she has helped hospitals navigate regulations and the impact of change. In addition to the Florida Hospital Association, Reep has held longtime hospital positions, as well as roles working in patients’ business, internal audit, systems management, diagnosis-related group management, and as a reimbursement director. She is the recipient of the 2019 Bob Broadway Distinguished Service Award from the Florida Chapter of HFMA.

Additionally, Reep is involved in multiple local, state, and national professional organizations, including the American Health Lawyers Association; National Uniform Billing Committee, where she is a voting member; and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, where she served as past Chair of the Outpatient Workgroup of the Medicare Technical Advisory Group. An alumna of the University of Central Florida and Rollins College, Reep has authored numerous publications related to healthcare finance and hospital reimbursement.
