PYA is pleased to continue a longstanding tradition of thought leadership in partnership with the American Health Law Association (AHLA) in the new year. AHLA will host two in-person conferences—the Academic Medical Centers and Teaching Hospitals Law Institute and Physicians and Hospitals Law Institute—between February 2-4, 2022. The events will be co-located in New Orleans.

PYA President and CEO Marty Brown will join Barnes & Thornburg Partner Robert A. Wade to present “Emerging Trends in Physician Employment/Independent Contractor Contracting and Compensation Arrangements With Hospitals.” The presentation will cover:

  • Physician compensation approval, implementation, and monitoring best practices.
  • Emerging compensation arrangements (including value-based arrangements), quality, patient access, and bundled payments.
  • How emerging contracting compensation arrangements comply with legal/regulatory requirements.
  • How emerging contracting compensation arrangements further integration for AMCs/hospitals/physicians.
