The Anatomy of Incident-To and Split/Shared Billing

Providing premier education in health law, the 2019 American Health Lawyers Association’s (AHLA) Physicians and Hospitals Law Institute took place February 4-6, in San Antonio, TX.

The program offered a variety of in-depth sessions focusing on regulatory developments and considerations; current enforcement efforts and their impact on physicians, hospitals, and health systems; and restructuring integration models and delivery systems.

PYA Senior Manager Valerie Rock, along with Jana Kolarik from Foley & Lardner, presented “The Anatomy of Incident-To and Split/Shared Billing.”  They discussed:

  • Compliant use of nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
  • The elements of incident-to and split/shared provider services.
  • Evaluation of manual guidance and the laws that impact interpretation of the provision.
  • Best practice application in common scenarios.

View the presentation below.

PYA served as a gold-level sponsor of the Institute, as well as an exhibitor, and sponsored daily continental breakfasts.
