Several PYA employees were acknowledged for their achievements in mid-year promotions.
PYA, a professional services firm, has announced that Matt Neilson is the latest principal to join its executive team. In addition, five other teammates have also been promoted throughout the firm.
Matt Neilson has been promoted to Audit and Assurance Principal at PYA. Neilson first joined the firm in 2002. Throughout his tenure, he has provided audit services for hospitals, health systems, financial institutions, employee benefits plans, and not-for-profit and governmental organizations. His professional involvement includes the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Matt serves as an advisory board member of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Knox County, where he also serves as Chairman of the Finance Committee. He is also an alumni member of the Beta Alpha Psi National Accounting Honors Fraternity.
“Matt’s excellent client service skills, and willingness to help clients and teammates, are of enormous benefit to our Firm,” said Mike Shamblin, Managing Principal of Audit & Assurance Services. “We look forward to his continued success in assisting and supporting our clients in numerous capacities.”
Neilson, who earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from East Tennessee State University, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in both North Carolina and Tennessee. He is also a graduate of the Southeastern School of Banking. “I am honored to be part of such a great organization, and have enjoyed the growth the Firm has experienced over the last 16 years I’ve been here. It has been a pleasure assisting our clients with their unique challenges, and I look forward to furthering those relationships, while contributing to the future success of PYA,” he said.
Allison Wilson, Aaron Elias, Anderson Payne, Jeff Redford, and Patrick Van Buren were also promoted. Wilson, who joined the firm in 2003, was promoted to Consulting Senior Manager. Elias, a PYA employee since 2014, was promoted to Consulting Manager. Payne, a five-year employee of the Firm, was promoted to Consulting Senior. And Jeff Redford and Patrick Van Buren, who joined the firm in 2016, were both promoted to Audit & Assurance Senior.
