PYA Wins Pinnacle Award

The honor recognizes a mid-size company with headquarters in East Tennessee that has shown remarkable profitability, growth and stability. Winners must be recognized regionally, nationally or internationally and demonstrate leadership in their business sector. A record of improving area facilities and resources in East Tennessee is also required.

The Chamber cited PYA’s contributions to economic development and its employment growth from three individuals at its founding in 1983 to a current total of 125 in Knoxville and three other locations. PYA also was recognized for founding or co-founding four affiliate companies and for renovating two historical structures, Perkins Elementary School and Cherokee Mills – its former and current headquarters.

The Chamber also noted in its presentation that in 2009 PYA achieved its five-year goal of growing revenues by 66 percent and that the firm is striving to achieve its 2014 goal of 74 percent growth.
