Strategic Planning

Executing and delivering strategy in day-to-day operations separates a trusted professional advisor from a consultant. PYA understands that change comes through performance of daily activities not just global strategy. We have the experience, judgment and leadership to help you execute job functions. PYA gained these skills by working with many organizations – large and small -  most of which have become long-standing clients.

We recently helped a flagship hospital system in the Southeast that saw net collections suffer as denials rose after several attempts to correct the problem were unsuccessful. A PYA professional with several years of experience in running a case management department at a similarly sized facility was assigned to the project. A strategy based on our experience in managed care, finance and accounting, clinical coding and reimbursement, and overall facility management was implemented. The diverse groups within the hospital that had to be educated, motivated, and trained to change the operational cycle were identified. With the need clearly identified and the stakeholders convinced of the problem’s impact on their area, a 15 percent decrease in Average Length of Stay across all payers, lower denial rates, and a higher performing Clinical Effectiveness department were realized.

The backgrounds of professionals at PYA include Registered Nurses, Certified Coders, Practice Administrators, Claims Managers, Claims Recovery Specialists, Masters in Health Administration, Masters in Business Administration, Lawyers, CFOs, and CEOs. Collectively, we have many years experience in the healthcare industry. This depth of knowledge is why we can make a difference in your organization through our various consulting roles.
