Overview
PYA was founded in 1983 by Ed Pershing and Doug Yoakley, and both remain active Shareholders with the firm today. From this beginning PYA has grown to include 100+ employees with offices in Knoxville, Atlanta, Tampa, and Charlotte. Throughout our history, we have maintained an excellent reputation for quality of service, value in professional services, and strong community involvement. We are proud of the firm that has been built and are excited about the many opportunities to grow and change that we will encounter in the coming years.
PYA was founded as a public accounting firm, and we still operate as such. Our accountants and consultants are held to the ethical and professional rules of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. This provides our clients with the additional comfort of knowing that we are committed to maintaining professional standard in all areas of our work. We are also a member of the McGladrey & Pullen network, which combines the forces of over 600 partners and 2,300 professionals into a network of 70 accounting firms throughout the nation.
Our firm maintains a fluid organizational structure, with client engagements not directed by geography or departments but instead by professional expertise. PYA responds to client needs by pooling all available talent applicable to the project, no matter their location or service area in the firm. We believe that this has allowed us to maintain an ability to respond to the changing needs of our clients and react quickly to the challenges involved on every engagement.
