Healthcare Executive Spring Conference Revolves Around Patient-Centered Care

On the road to improving healthcare quality, efficiency, and outcomes, the patient should take the wheel, not be left behind on the curb.  This transition from provider-centered to patient-centered care is critical to the success of new care models.

The upcoming meeting of the Kansas Association of Health Care Executives (KAHCE) will include a session entitled, “Integrating the Principles of Patient-Centered Care.”  PYA Principal Martie Ross will serve as moderator for this session.  Topics to be addressed include:

  • Key principles of patient-centered care (PCC)
  • Shared decision making in clinical care
  • Proven patient engagement strategies
  • The use and value of patient outcome metrics
  • Cultural understanding and culturally competent care
  • The Planetree Model and other early adopters of PCC
  • Clinical outcomes research supporting patient-focused care
  • The business case for PCC in light of value-based purchasing
  • Physical and operational obstacles and barriers to PCC

Attendees for this session will receive 1.5 hours ACHE Face-to-Face Credits.

KAHCE’s spring conference will be April 25 and 26 in Wichita, Kansas. View more information here.
