Health Symposium Agenda Features Noted Speakers, Public Policy Discussions

Health Information Exchange (HIE) allows healthcare providers to access and securely share vital patient medical records electronically. While the information will be readily available, who ultimately “owns” the data?

The answer to that question and other timely healthcare-related public policy topics will be examined during a facilitated session at the Kansas Health Foundation’s inaugural 2014 Health Symposium — From Complexity to Simplicity: A Path to Health, held in Wichita, KS.

PYA Principal Martie Ross was invited by the Foundation to facilitate discussion during the Friday, June 6 breakout session, “Who Owns Patient Data.” Ross will foster dialogue about HIE data quality, privacy, and security following a keynote address by patient advocate Regina Holliday.

Other keynote speakers include former FDA commissioner David Kessler, noted Apple Inc. marketing expert Ken Segall, along with sociobiologist and author Rebecca Costa. View the symposium agenda here.

If you’d like more information about HIE, HIPAA, or meaningful use, contact the experts listed below at PYA, (800) 270-9629.
