PYA was able to offer a professional with several years of experience in running a case management department at a similarly sized facility to execute a strategy based on our experience in managed care, finance and accounting, clinical coding and reimbursement, and overall facility management. We quickly identified the diverse groups that had to be educated, motivated, and trained to change the operational cycle that was resulting in less than outstanding performance in this area. With the need clearly identified and the stakeholders convinced of the problem’s impact to each of their areas, we have achieved improved operations that resulted in a 15% decrease in Average Length of Stay across all payers, lower denial rates, and a higher performing Clinical Effectiveness department.
