“Feels Like the Odyssey? Working Through a System-Wide Compensation Redesign and Living to Tell the Story”

Changes in healthcare and, consequently, healthcare law, occur almost daily. The American Health Lawyers Association Physicians and Hospitals Law Institute will offer a roadmap to guide attendees through the tangle of healthcare law February 5-7, 2018, at the Sheraton New Orleans.

PYA Senior Manager Annapoorani Bhat will present, “Feels Like the Odyssey? Working Through a System-Wide Compensation Redesign and Living to Tell the Story,” with Kristoffer B. Shepard, Deputy General Counsel of Carolinas Healthcare.  In their presentation, Anna and Kris will use a case study to illustrate real-world issues and concerns associated with the compensation redesign process, including:

  • Types of compensation models
  • Service-specific compensation components
  • Legal and contractual issue identification and mitigation
  • Fair market value challenges

During the conference, additional in-depth breakout sessions will focus on legal challenges faced by physicians and their counsel, hospitals and health systems and their counsel, and the issues affecting the legal interests of both segments of the healthcare delivery system.

If you would like more information about addressing fair market value challenges in a compensation redesign process, or would like to request a speaker on this topic for your organization or event, contact one of our PYA executives below at (800) 270-9629.
