Determination of Compensation in the Healthcare Industry

fair market value compensationPYA Principal Carol Carden, CPA/ABV/CFE, ASA, has co-authored a book in the Wiley Finance Series, Financial Valuation Applications and Models (4th edition) along with James R. Hitchner, CPA/ABV/CFF, ASA and other valuation industry thought leaders. The reference book and companion website provide up-to-date guidance, applications, and models for valuing closely held businesses, nonpublic entities, intangibles, and other assets.

Chapter Excerpt:

Given the regulated nature of the healthcare industry, determination of reasonable and fair market value compensation can be a complex analysis. Analysts who work in this discipline need to ensure they stay abreast of developments in a complex set of regulations that change frequently. Many of the approaches and methodologies employed in determining fair market value compensation are similar and related to the approaches and methodologies used in business valuation, but the application is modified to more closely align with determining compensation levels.
