AMA Publishes Corrections to CPT 2006

The American Medical Association (AMA) has identified inaccuracies in their CPT 2006 coding book. This affects codes found in the Evaluation and Management, Anesthesia, Surgery, Medicine, Pathology and Laboratory sections of CPT 2006, as well as the Index.

For example, here is a revision from the Evaluation and Management section:

Categories and Subcategories of Service

Domiciliary, Rest home (eg, Boarding Home), or Custodial Care Services

New Patient 99324 - 99328 99307 - 99310
Established Patient 99334 – 99337

Add correct codes to listing and delete erroneous (Subsequent Nursing Facility) codes.

Billing and coding staff are encouraged to access this information to determine if it affects your code assignments.
