AHLA Panel Presentation Addresses IRS’ Final Rules for Tax-Exempt Hospitals

PYA is excited to support the American Health Lawyer Association’s (AHLA) Tax Issues for Healthcare Organizations Program, October 7-9, at The Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia. PYA Principal Debbie Ernsberger will participate in a panel discussion, “Where Do We Go from Here? IRS Finalizes Rules for Tax-Exempt Hospitals.”

As hospitals and health systems face growing scrutiny regarding the level of indigent care they provide, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has recently finalized Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(r) regulations with which charitable hospitals must comply in order to maintain their tax-exempt status. This interactive panel will explore these final rules, as well as best practices and the right steps for organizations to take to be in compliance with these regulations.

If you have questions about healthcare tax or would like to request a speaker on the above topic for your organization or event, contact the experts listed below at PYA, (800) 270-9629.
